| Our multi-head cutters enable us to cut plates up to 100mm thick. We have a comprehensive stock of plates up to 50mm thick but if the required material is not in stock then we are able to source material from our many approved suppliers worldwide. |
| We have six natural
gas fired furnaces and the forming process starts with the heating of the blank. All our furnaces have temperature recording charts which are calibrated on a regular basis. |
| The red hot blank
is then formed in multiple operations around the forming dies until the product
meets the required dimensions. Some carbon steel items do not need further heat treatment because they are hot formed within the normalising range. Most other materials are subjected to a seperate heat treatment and test coupons can be mechanically tested (if requested) at NAMAS approved laboratories. |
| All our hot formed products are descaled either by shotblasting, acid pickling or non-metallic blasting |
| We have a well equipped
machine shop consisting mainly of vertical borers and lathes.
Our end caps generally have a single outside
bevel but we can machine most weld preparations to your requirements, including
"J-preps", double and compound bevels. |
| After machining, the
products are either subject to non-destructive testing (MPI, DPI or UT) and then
a final inspection.
After final inspection the products are packed for shipment. We have our own vehicles for local deliveries and also use nationwide and international freight forwarders that offer road, sea and air freight. |
